White Haired Beauty

Margie was already a grandma with white hair when I met her. Yet, she was one of the most beautiful women in my life. She was a volunteer at the prayer ministry I had just joined. I loved serving on Margie’s prayer team because she bubbled with joy and enthusiasm for the Lord. Often when she spoke of her Savior, her passion . . .

You Have My "Yes!"

The Words You speak to me are worth more than all the riches and wealth in the whole world! Psalm 119:72 TPT

I read this Psalm while sitting on the floor in God’s presence. I wondered would I still sit on the floor, in self-abasement, if I had all the riches and wealth in the whole world? I needed no time to think about it. My answer is an emphatic, “YES!”

Sitting on the floor is my position of . . . .

Transformed Beauty

Lori was caught in a spider web of drug addiction and prostitution. Every time she tried to make a move, she became more entangled. Not that she was trying to free herself; she thought life was great. Yet, the pallor of death was upon her face. Photos from . . .

Grow in Your Walk

Without me noticing, I have some how become one of the “older women” at my church. No longer am I the one trying to figure out how to grow kids God’s way or parent with love and logic. My kids are grown. That puts me in the category of “older women.” I really don’t mind; I like being older and wiser – especially the wiser part. I have always loved to encourage people, especially younger women. Now, there is just a lot more of them!

Today, I am another year older and wiser. So . . . .

Love Notes

Most young children struggle with fears. Mine certainly did. In this time of worldwide pandemic, in which the children’s world is dramatically upset, I imagine those fears are at a panic level. I empathize with the parents who are trying to calm and reassure their children.

Let me share with you . . .

I Choose Joy

I am re-posting this devotion about Choosing Joy because I think we need it!

The Joy of the Lord is a life-giving force! Choosing to set our minds on the things of the Spirit is Life and Peace! What we choose to think on, really IS live or death.

I choose Joy!

My life radically changed the year that I learned not every thought that passed through my mind, was “my” thought. Movies, books, people - even the enemy! - can plant thoughts . . .

My Recipe for JOY

I live in the Seattle area, the epicenter of the coronavirus in the US. The Care Center that everyone is talking about is only 15 minutes from my home. Public gatherings are prohibited; schools are closed. Each new day seems to bring more bad news. Yesterday all dine-in restaurants were ordered to close. Yet in the midst of it all, I have peace and JOY!!!!

How do I keep my JOY? I am diligent to guard my heart (Pr. 4:23).

Here is my recipe for having JOY in any and all circumstances:

On The Way

We were vacationing and on the way to see some interesting site. We came upon a small, local grocery store and stopped for snacks. As I made my purchase, I couldn’t help noticing the baby in the next check stand. The baby was so tiny and cute! It must have been less than one week old! The young parents were attempting to buy a handful of items with an expired food card. My heart . . .

Who Watches Over Me

November 1st, 2019, my Dad was released from his fragile, pain-ridden, earthly tent into the loving arms of his Savior. Finally, my Dad is pain-free and dancing with his Jesus. I’m happy for him! And I look forward to joining him some day.

As I prayed about a fitting tribute to publish here, the Lord reminded me of two things: 1) a touching memory and 2) a poignant poem. . . .
